Why am I seeing a "content disabled" message when I use an HDMI cord to watch videos on my TV?

The content disabled message usually indicates a problem with the HDMI cord connecting the Roku to the television.

You can troubleshoot this in a few ways:

  1. Unplug the HDMI cord from the TV and the Roku box. When plugging it back in, make sure that the cord is plugged in tightly in both ports.
  2. Try a different HDMI input on the TV.
  3. Use a different HDMI cable.
