A narrator is describing everything that happens on the shows I am watching. How do I make it stop?

From your home screen, please tap Settings > General > Accessibility > Voice Over > Off. This will turn off general voiceover for the iPad or iPhone.


To turn Audio Description (AD) on or off in the PBS app, please follow the instruction below.


Open the PBS app and select the video you would like to view. Please note, not all programming has AD available. Start the video. Wait for the ad to complete.


While the video is running, tap the video player to bring up the progress bar. Then:

  1. Tap the circle with 3 dots.
  2. Select Language.
  3. Select English AD to turn AD on, or English to turn AD off.
