The PBS KIDS Channel on my Roku is saying I'm outside of the United States. How do I fix this?

If you have attempted to play a video on the PBS KIDS Channel and receive a message saying your device is outside of the United States, please see below. This can occur for specific videos or a specific program, and may appear unexpectedly after you've been using the channel with no prior issues.

Because of legal reasons we must restrict our app content from streaming outside of the United States. When you attempt to play a video, it checks your IP Address to determine if we can legally offer this content to your device. If your device has not been refreshed in a while, this error message can appear for any video on the PBS KIDS Channel and can usually be resolved by simply restarting the device. For most users this solution fixes the problem.

To power cycle your Roku device:

  1. Unplug your Roku device from its power source.
  2. Wait a minute.
  3. Plug your Roku device back in. This will give your device time to restart and reload.
  4. Return to the PBS KIDS channel and try to watch the program again.

If problems continue, please submit a ticket and include a brief description of the problem.
